    Wet-Felted Vessel Class
    • Learn how to create a two-colour wet-felted vessel with reliefs.
    • First you will create a piece of felt from rovings.
    • Then you will create a two-colour vessel from the felt.
    • As a bonus, you may felt a piece of soap.

    Date - October 31, 2020, 10 am - 3 pm.

    Cost - $70   ACP Members $63

    Materials fee paid to instructor $25

    Bring a bar of soap, 1 large towel

    and 2 hand towels

    Maximum in class - 4 students

    Bonus: bring a bar of soap to wet felt and get used to creating felt from rovings.

    Basic Woodturning

    This class will cover the safe operation of a lathe including appropriate personal safety protection and sharpening techniques for turning tools. It will cover techniques for turning spindles, both simple and complex, basic bowl and basic platter.

    Felted Critters

    This class is designed for beginners wanting to try needle felting.

    Come out for loads of fun and create your own colourful fuzzy friend!

    Introduction to Weaving


    In this introductory 2 day weekend class, using 15" table looms provided, you will complete all the steps needed to plan and complete your first handwoven project 

    You will wind a warp for a sampler and learn how to calculate yarn requirements

    Wind the warp on to the loom (called dressing the loom)

    Thread a sampler pattern

    Weave a twill sampler, which is your first reference work for your new weaving binder or, if you really want to show it off, a wall hanging


    Cost $200.00 payable to ACP. Materials fee for yarns provided, $5 payable to the instructor

    Classes will be held November 14 & 15, 2020, from 10 – 4

    Second session will run December 5 & 6, 2020

    Class size limited to 4 participants. All Covid precautions in effect.

    This workshop will provide a combination and variety of techniques including using wood burning and quick wood/apoxy-sculpt, so you can create your own personal and one-of-a-kind gourd rooster. You may not complete your project in one day (depending on how fast you work). If needed, I will be available the following Monday to assist in completion or you may finish at home.

    Teacher will provide: all required materials, including gourd.

    Students should bring:

    - Wood Burner with a couple of pens for line drawing (please let me know, when you register, if you need to borrow one)

    - Moulding/sculpting tools if you have them (some available to borrow)

    - awl, xacto knife

    - Paint brushes (if you like your own) (some available to borrow)

    - Protective Eyewear and dust mask

    Are you ready to try a new technique?  We will be creating designs with small beads on a gourd shard, using treated beeswax as a base.  


    Teacher will supply:  size 11 beads, and Tacky Wax. 

    Students should bring an awl if you have one.  I will bring some 2" - 4" gourd shards, though if you have a shallow gourd top to use please bring it.  Let me know in advance if you will need me to bring you a shard.

    Students should bring: a prepared gourd cleaned inside and out, wood burner and burning pens - shader, small ball (can borrow from teacher if you do not have one), and skew or what you prefer for burning lines
