Zipper Gourd

***PREREQUISITE - Beginner Gourd Art and also comfortable with Power Carver.

We will be marking where we want to insert the zipper on the outside of a clean but unfinished gourd.  Zipper can also be added on the rim to give a finished touch.  The lines where you will be inserting the zipper will need to be carved out, often needing a few passes with your Dremel or Master Carver.  When the zipper fits easily in the carved line, you will be able to dye the gourd and the carved section, and finish the gourd before gluing in the zipper.  You may want to add some accents as well.

The teacher will supply the zipper and studio materials.

Students need to bring a prepared gourd, their carver and bits if they have one, and any additional accents they would like to add.  A mask and apron will be needed for carving.
