Youth - Basket Making (Ages 7+)

For ages 7 and up! A perfect arts activity for your summer! 

We will learn how to make our own basket out of colourful reed! We'll start with a piece of gourd for our base and learn how to start weaving. We'll cover some basic techniques like twining and work our way up to adding some fun decoration like beads. Lastly we'll learn how to make the rim and finish off our baskets.     

We endeavor to use easy to source materials in our activities so participants can continue practicing even after the class is done if they wish.

This class is $30 per registrant. All materials are included. The class is 3 hours long and instructed by Weavers' and Spinners' guild member Julia.

A completed permission form must be submitted for each participant at the beginning of the class.

If the participant and yourself are both comfortable please complete and submit a photo release as well.
