HAND BUILDING FUNCTIONAL POTTERY September 13, 2019

1 PM to 3 PM

$30


This two hour hand building class will be an opportunity to learn about creating textures with tools, fabric and objects from nature.  Slab and pinch pot methods will be shown to make stoneware pottery.  A choice of 2 pieces will be made.  Fee includes clay, firing and glazes.  Choices may include a mug, bowl, small appetizer plate, and a vase.  A choice of glazes will be given.  

The teacher will supply samples of bisqued and glazed pottery, clay, tools for cutting, smoothing and texturing class, pictures of ideas, and all clean up materials. 

Students should bring an apron or comfortable clothes, hand lotion as the clay can dry out skin.

The completed pieces can be picked up at the Kawartha Potters Guild at 993 Talwood.
