Our Mission

To preserve and promote traditional heritage skills in Peterborough and the Kawarthas through teaching the public and promoting local artists and artisan groups.

Affiliated Groups

Peterborough Weavers & Spinners Guild 

Founded in 1955 by a group of area women wanting to promote learning opportunities and the enjoyment of weaving for themselves and the public. As well as its original focus on handweaving, the PWSG has expanded to encompass the related skills of spinning, dyeing, basketry and felting. The Guild is based out of the Artisans Centre, where they hold their meetings, equipment, and library. For a full list of their equipment and resources please visit their website.

An offshoot of the Canadian Gourd Society, the Kawartha Gourders are based out of the Artisans Centre. Founded in

Kawartha Potters' Guild

The Kawartha Potters’ Guild is a not-for-profit, founded in 1993 to promote the art and craft of ceramics in the community and to provide a forum for local potters to share their experiences and knowledge of clay.
