Textured Design on Gourd

Adding texture to a gourd creates a lot of interest in design and there are a number of steps to this technique. The fun is when the texture is dry and you add highlights to make it stand out.  This technique is also a great way to cover cracks that sometimes appear on a perfect gourd, just add texture to cover it up.  You will make your own design on the rest of the gourd.  

The teacher will provide the materials you need to do this technique on an area of  your gourd.

Students need to bring a prepared gourd, an idea of what you want to do, your burner if you have one, and an apron.
