03-BB #1904 "Swirling Ginko" Gourd
Description
Size: 7" wide by 4 1/2" high
This hard shelled gourd is carved along the top edge to create the raised leaf stem. At the front, a wide swirl is carved with a raised edge; filigree holes are carved through the lightly painted swirl. Much of the gourd's surface is dyed brown to showcase the carved and painted green ginkgo leaf. The inside of the gourd is painted a light colour to match the swirl. This gourd was created in a class taught by Gloria Crane from California.
