Description
Gourders love to try new techniques on gourds. This gourd's flower has been outlined with a zipper imbedded into the gourd, the centre is full of tiny beads without holes. The gourd itself has been dyed a light brown and then varnished. The top of the gourd has 5 rows of coiling. If you are not familiar with coiling, it is done by wrapping waxed linen around and around paper core. As the rows go higher, each row is joined to the one below. I find that it takes me around 1 hour to do 6" of one row of coiling! It is worth it though, as it gives a stable and beautiful finish to the top of the gourd.
