Intro to Weaving (7 May 2026)

In this introductory class, using provided 15" table looms, you will complete all the steps needed to plan and complete your first handwoven project! You will learn how to measure a warp for your project, how to calculate yarn requirements, how to wind the warp onto the loom (called dressing the loom), and then thread a pattern and weave a sampler.

Pine Needle Gourd Rim (11 May 2026)

For those who like the natural look gourd, learn to pine needle a rim. First learn to prepare longleaf pine needles for use. Then use your choice of waxed linen or faux sinew to attach a few rows of pine needles with a cross stitch pattern. Learn to join thread, hide loose ends, and how to nicely finish the project.

Participants should being a gourd finished inside and out, ready for its rim treatment. If you are experienced with similar rim treatments like coiling, you may want to cut the gourd with a low 3 wave rim to bring an in and out shape to your pine needle rim.

Materials such as pine needles, waxed linen, and sinew will be provided.

Machine Sewing - Pillow Case (12 May 2026)

PRACTISE your newly acquired sewing skills by custom making your own size pillow case for book lovers, sports fans, or that special person.

LEARN to measure and cut out your fabric, sew your pieces together using the special burrito method and French seams for your finishing touch.

*Basic sewing skills and machine knowledge required.

Join us for some fun, drop-in, community driven Open Studio time with the ACP. Open to the public and studio members alike, all are welcome to attend!

Bring any crafts or projects you're working on, hang out and visit with other crafters, or get advice and questions answered by one of our resident experts in knitting , crochet, weaving, spinning, sewing, felting...and so much more!

Open Studio Night will take place on the 3rd Friday of every month, from 6 pm to 8 pm. There is no fee but donations are always greatly appreciated.
