Just got a new machine?…Want to start sewing some easy projects?…Need to do some mending?…This is the class for you!

In this introductory course we will walk through the basics of using a sewing machine, including needle types, stitches, tension, and essential sewing tips! Participants will produce a small project by the end of the class.

Requirements: Bring your own sewing machine and a spool of good quality white thread (Gutermann or equivalent). If you do not own a machine, please contact us to request use of one of ours.

All other materials will be provided in this class.

felting through creating your own felted landscape. We provide a kit with all the tools and materials you'll need to create a

6"x 8" piece. Register with a friend for a fun and creative day out!

The landscape theme for this class is: Mountains!

Basic Earring Making (12 Sep 2026)

Learn the basics of how to use a few beads, headpins, and earring wire to make your own colourful earrings! Participants will learn how to bend and cut headpins, use wire rings to attach to earring wires, and choose from a selection of colourful beads as decoration. Gold and silver coloured hardware options will be available.

Each participant will go home with three pairs of brand new beaded earrings! All materials and tools will be provided for the class.

Class Duration: 2.5 hrs

Intro to Alcohol Inks on Tile (19 Sep 2026)

Create your own custom designs on ceramic tile!

In this introductory workshop, participants will learn the basics of working with alcohol inks. The class will begin with a turorial of using the inks on Yupo paper. Then, participants will transition to learning to manipulate and design with the inks on ceramic tiles, including use of an air blower for abstract motifs, masking techniques, and lots of time for experimentation!

Participants will leave the class with their Yupo paper samples, up to 3 decorated ceramic tiles of varied sizes, and a printed resource handout.

All materials will be provided.

Machine Sewing - Pillow Case (6 Oct 2026)

PRACTICE your newly acquired sewing skills in this Next Steps level workshop by creating your very own custom pillow case!

Learn to measure and cut your fabric, sew the pieces together using the special burrito method, and use French Seams for a finishing touch.

*Prerequisite: Basic sewing skills and machine knowledge.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: (preferably cotton or cotton blend)

Main Pillowcase Fabric: 27” (~69 cm) x 45” (or Width of Fabric)
Trim Fabric: 4” (~10 cm) x 45” (or WOF)
Cuff Fabric: 12” (~30 cm) x 45” (or WOF)
Matching thread

Sewing machines are available at the ACP, however, preference is to bring your own. (Ensure it is currently in good working condition). Please contact us a head of time if you require use of a machine.
