    Social Media for Community Groups

    Free for volunteers for the Creative Hands On Festival and Artisans Centre Peterborough

    Artisans Centre Peterborough is offering a workshop about Social Media for Community Groups,  financed through New Horizons for Seniors Grant. This free workshop is a thank you  for Creative Hands On Festival and Artisans Centre volunteers. You will learn  the basics about what to post and how to post on Facebook and Instagram. This workshop will take place Thursday, February 27th, 2020 from 1 to 3 pm. at Artisans Centre Peterborough and will be conducted by Mary Sullivan, a professional web designer and social media provider.

    You will set up a page for your community group and learn how to post, add a picture and share posts.  The class will become more advanced if participants are ready.  Please register online at artisanscentre.ca, under workshops: "Special Interest".

    The Instructor will provide  help to set up a page on your Facebook and set up Instagram.

    Students will need to bring  their computer and phone, as well as your Facebook and Instagram passwords.   If you do not have either, Mary will help you.

    Saturday march 7, 2020

    Teacher:  Angel Adu-Gyamfi

    In this workshop, students will deepen their understanding of Journaling with concepts such as colour schemes, font styles and basic doodles. Before leaving, students will then create a postcard using one of the latter techniques discussed in class. By the end, students will leave with a completed postcard, a blank journal, and a better understanding of journaling.

    Teacher will supply all materials. 

    Students need to bring their imagination.

    • Learn the basic technique to create a lovely small tree sculpture.
    • A unique item to keep or gift.
    • All materials will be provided but you can bring your own "special" rock if you prefer.

    Making a Wet-Felted Vessel
    • Learn how to create a two-colour wet-felted vessel with reliefs.
    • First you will create a piece of felt from rovings.
    • Then you will create a two-colour vessel from thefelt.
    • As a bonus, you may felt a piece of soap.

    Date - Sat., March 28, 2020, 10 am - 3 pm.

    Cost - $70   ACP Members $63

    Materials fee paid to instructor $25

    Bring a bar of soap, 1 large towel

    and 2 hand towels

    Working with Handspun - Knit/Crochet Ideas
    • Join us for two interactive sessions, exploring the work of creating with your handspun yarn.
    • We will explore knit, crochet and other ideas.
    • Sessions are geared to all levels of experience, beginners to intermediate.
