Learn some basic stitches to get you on your way to making all the beautiful things.

Refresher course for those that have tried but need some motivation to return to the craft.

Please bring a 5 or 6 mm crochet hook and bulky weight yarn (#5) to class.

In this introductory course we will walk through the basics of using a sewing machine, including needle types, stitches, tension, and essential sewing tips! Participants will produce a small project by the end of the class.

Requirements: Bring your own sewing machine and a spool of good quality white thread (Gutermann or equivalent). If you do not own a machine, please contact us to request use of one of ours.

All other materials will be provided in this class.

Are you looking for quiet time to de-stress your busy mind, and get back to the simpler things?

Join us and learning the basics of Sashiko stitching! Hand sewing is a great way to set some time aside for yourself .

The Class will start a Sashiko square that can be used as a coaster or added to a piece of clothing or bag as an embellishment.

Sashiko is an excellent way to revamp old clothing, towels, bags and anything else in need of a stitchy uplift.

No experience necessary, all supplies are provided.

Machine Sewing - Pillow Case (6 Oct 2026)

PRACTICE your newly acquired sewing skills in this Next Steps level workshop by creating your very own custom pillow case!

Learn to measure and cut your fabric, sew the pieces together using the special burrito method, and use French Seams for a finishing touch.

*Prerequisite: Basic sewing skills and machine knowledge.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: (preferably cotton or cotton blend)

Main Pillowcase Fabric: 27” (~69 cm) x 45” (or Width of Fabric)
Trim Fabric: 4” (~10 cm) x 45” (or WOF)
Cuff Fabric: 12” (~30 cm) x 45” (or WOF)

Machine Sewing - Cross Back Japanese Apron (14 Nov 2026)

Whether you are a cook, a gardener, or just working on DIY projects, the JAPANESE APRON is the perfect addition to your wardrobe providing the combination of functionality with comfort.

FEATURES over the head entrance with roomy front pockets ideal for holding tools, ingredients, or craft supplies. Patterns will be available for sizes M, L, and XL.

SEWING REQUIREMENTS

i) sewing machine and knowledge on how to use your machine.

ii) pre-washed & ironed material (preferably cotton-linen blend or similar weight denim or twill)

FABRIC requirements: (double the amount if making it reversible)

Width > 150m or 60”. Length > 1.5m or 1.65 yards

iii) matching thread

iv) a good pair of sewing scissors if available, to cut out their pattern
