For those who like the natural look gourd, learn to pine needle a rim.  First learn to prepare longleaf pine needles for use. Then use your choice of  waxed linen or faux sinew to attach a few rows of pine needles with a  cross stitch pattern. Learn to join thread, hide loose ends, and how to nicely finish the project.

Participants should being a gourd finished inside and out, ready for its rim treatment. If you are experienced with similar rim treatments like coiling, you may want to cut the gourd with a low 3 wave rim to bring an in and out shape to your pine needle rim. 

Materials such as pine needles, waxed linen, and sinew will be provided. 

Prerequisite: Beginner Gourd Art
