Who Are We?
The Artisans Centre Peterborough is a non-profit organization formed by four artisan groups in the Peterborough area.
Our Goal
The purpose of Artisans Centre Peterborough is to establish and operate a permanent working and educational
facility in order to:
* Provide readily available facilities for the use and training of the participating guild and association members
* Maintain and advance the state of the respective artisan disciplines
* Provide a central location within the Peterborough community for artisan crafts
* Learn new perspectives through association with other artisan guilds
* Provide a platform for sharing and promoting artisan skills through educational programs for all ages in the community
* Displaying and selling artisan products through a gallery/store for the purposes of educating and advancing the public’s understanding and appreciation of the artisans‘ art.

The Benefit to the Community
The normal practice with artisan groups has been monthly meetings in a rented facility with equipment available to members on a limited basis. The establishment of a permanent facility makes the equipment available on a continuing basis and strengthens the foundation for sustaining artisan disciplines.
The increased availability of workshops and equipment enables the setting up of classes that are not available under the current set ups for students, seniors and the general public.
In addition to the availability of classes, a permanent facility makes it possible for the interested public to see and purchase finished products on a continuing basis and to see artisans at work in their workshops, an experience that can educate and stimulate an interest in an artisan craft.
A permanent facility located within the community will become an attraction to visitors, and given Peterborough’s location as a popular vacation region, can potentially bring additional revenue to the community. It can also become home to a number of festivals and fairs that benefit the whole community.
